It has been a most wonderful and enjoyable year for me serving as your Commodore. I summarized many Club accomplishments in the December Bowsprit so I won't repeat here. However, it must be stated again, I could not be more proud and happy for all the accomplishments made this year; but, the Board of Directors, the Committee Chairs, and the Committee Members made everything possible.
I can not express my thanks to all that made this a most memorable and enjoyable year, not only for me, but for all the Club Members.
I look forward to serving as Past Commodore on the 2010 Board of Directors, and I encourage everyone to offer the same warm and energetic support to your 2010 Commodore, Harry Armenia and the rest of the 2010 Board of Directors and Committee Chairs.
See you at the Vice Commodore's New Year's Eve party. We will welcome your new Officers and Board of Directors at midnight. I also look forward to seeing everyone at the BYC Installation of Officers Banquet, Jan 9 at the Bay Club, Naval Air Station, Corpus Christi.
Happy New Year!

The annual Commodore's Christmas party was another successful event, with over 60 Club members enjoying good food, great friends, and an exciting gift exchange with nearly every gift being stolen more than once.
See you at the Vice Commodore's New Year's Eve party.
Cheers,
Walt

What a great weekend for our last organized cruise of the year. The weather wasn't quite as advertised, but a wonderful weekend none-the-less.
We had at least 13 vessels make the trip. A wonderful cocktail hour was hosted by our Cruise Dude and he reported that his new vessel comfortably holds in excess of 2 dozen warm bodies.
I encourage everyone to consider participation in our cruises next year as I am sure it will be another great year.
Cheers,
Walt

The 6th and last of the 2009 Texas J-24 Circuit Race Series was this last weekend Nov 21-22 2009, hosted by the Lake Canyon Yacht Club.
With 12 J-24’s from around the state competing, BYC members Doug Weakly and Tom Kane, along with Pedro Gianotti (UK Halsey) and Matt Heinsohn took 1st PLACE!
Over the two-day weekend, they raced 6 times, 3 each day. Doug’s team finished 2-5-1-1-1-4 (leaving a little room for improvement next year) but also showing the level of competition! It is interesting to note that Doug and Matt have been doing J-24 races together for over 10 years and Doug and Tom for a number of years too; but, this is the first time for a 1st Place Trophy in the Texas Circuit. A huge congratulations for this impressive win!
Corey Harding (MORF) on Happy Dance, took 2nd Place for the 2009 Series. Congratulations to Corey for his extraordinary year too.
Cheers,
Walt

Three BYC members; Doug Weakly, Tom Kane, and Walter Crawford plus Pedro Gianotti (UK Halsey Sails) took a first place victory on all 4 races at the Wurstfest Regatta on Canyon Lake Nov 7-8!
If you ever have an opportunity to race with Doug, Tom, or Pedro, DO NOT miss it, as these guys are good and you can learn a lot.
Nov 21/22, Doug, Tom & Pedro will once again travel to Canyon Lake for the J-24 Circuit Races. Good Luck guys!
Cheers,
Walt

Well, those of you that did not show up missed a real exciting night, and quite a few very valuable items that sold at a bargain. And then there were a few items that were sold again for the 3rd or 4th time.
We sold $3,032 worth of stuff! (Check out Jenny's photos)
Thanks to all that donated stuff and thanks to all that bought stuff. And, the beer & brats dinner was great, thanks to Chris & Cathy for the brats.
There were a number of donations from local businesses, so please support the following supporters of our Club:
Corpus Christi Marina (haul out)
Blue Water Ships Stores
West Marine
Joe?s Crab Shack
Water?s Street Restaurant
Coastal Bend Yacht Bottom Cleaning Services
