Sea Scout Membership Information

Expenses

	COSTS: MINIMAL.  Fees may be as little as $30 for the first year of membership, which pays Scout registration fees, for the Crew T, and the Sea Scout Manual - as good a sailing primer as ever written.  Individual crew members pay for personal gear, burgers, and a share of racing or cruising expenses.
	No experience in sailing is required to join, nor must one have been a Scout. Scouts may be registered in both a Troop, and with the SHIP.  Most crews try hard not to compete with the troop for the Scout's time or attention.  Kids can do both. You must be able to swim, however, and be enrolled in and attend school. A conference with the skipper can sort out the details.
